The Stone Phoneys is a Linda Ronstadt Tribute Band.  We love Linda and want to pay tribute to this icon of the sixties and seventies. Linda Ronstadt, and her powerhouse voice, is well known for hits like, “When Will I Be Loved,”  “Blue Bayou,” “You’re No Good,” and many more, as she has a huge catalog of songs. She was not known as a songwriter but as a singer. She knew a real hit when she heard it, making many songwriters and other bands rich and famous like the Eagles. In her band were studio quality players like her guitar players Waddy Waddel, the late  great Andrew Gold and Kenny Edwards (founding member of Linda’s first band, The Stone Poneys). It was the end of her career when she found out she could no longer sing because of Parkinson's disease.  Kenny, who passed away in 2010, lived in Santa Barbara, where he was a prominent figure in the music scene and found his way onto many local musicians’ recordings, including the music of Jena C. Douglas, singer and guitar player for The Stone Phoneys - A Linda Ronstadt Tribute Band.

What better way to compliment than to copy, at least musically. The Stone Phoneys was the epiphany of Jena C. Douglas, who visualized a tribute band called; The Stone Phoneys. This band would create something special in honor of her idol, Linda Ronstadt, and keep all those great songs alive! In the spirit of songwriting the band also plays their original songs and other cover tunes. Jena put together some local musicians, Mory Alvarez on bass, Cajon and back vocals and Keith Christian on lap steel and guitar. Together they have been putting well produced songs into an acoustic format. Depending on the venue, their band can be from one to seven players. Not always easy but certainly sounds extraordinary and fun!
